The Banyu Urip oil field in Cepu block in Bojonegoro regency, East Java province is projected to contribute 74,000 bopd to state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina?s (Persero) production in 2017.

PT Pertamina EP Cepu?s (PEPC) President Director Adriansyah was quoted by Antara as saying that the field reached its peak production of 165,000 bopd in the past March.

?We hope the production can increase. If the production stays at 165,000 bopd throughout next year, PEPC?s net share is around 74,000 bopd,? he said.

Aside from Banyu Urip, another field in Cepu block that will contribute to Pertamina?s production is Kedung Keris field. Although it is not as big as Banyu Urip, it is expected to be able to compensate a decline in Banyu Urip?s production in the future.

?We expect it to start production at the time Banyu Urip starts to decline, that is at the end of 2017 or early 2018? he said, adding that the field?s production is not big, around 8,000 bopd according to the Plan of Development (PoD). (*)
