South Kalimantan's coal miner PD Baramarta said on Tuesday its coal output reached 792,677 tons, 10 percent lower compared to the same period last year.
A coal sale in the quarter is also down by 8 percent to 792,677, the official said. ?The output and sales are decreasing because some of our area can?t exploit due to land-permit problem, but we still on track to reach our coal output target at 3.5 million tons for this year,? a company official told Petromindo.com.
Baramarta expects to produce 928,000 tons of coal and sales at 861,084 tons in the second quarter 2008.
Baramarta produces coal with CV content of around 6,500 Kcal/kg. The company sold its coal at its stockpile to traders PT Prima Multi Minerals and PT Prima Multi Trada under long-term contracts that are renewed annually. The traders sell the coal to Asia Pacific market. (denny)
