South Kalimantan coal miner PD Baramarta said on Wednesday its coal output reached 1.146 million tons in the July-Sept quarter this year, 9 percent lower compared to the same quarter last year.

Operations Manager Slamet Santosa told Petromindo.com that the lower production was due to unfavorable weather condition. He, however, said that the company is on track to meet the target of 4 million tons of coal output this year. Last year, the company produced 3.7 million tons.

Cumulative coal production as per September is 3.43 million tons.

He also said that the company aimed to produce 4-4.5 million for next year.

Baramarta produces coal with CV content of around 6,300-6,500 Kcal/kg. The company sells coal at its stockpile to traders PT Prima Multi Minerals and PT Prima Multi Trada under long-term contracts that are renewed annually. The traders sell the coal to Asia Pacific market. (denny)
