Baramarta to increase 2008 coal production

South Kalimantan coal miner PD Baramarta is targeting to produce 4 million tonnes of coal this year, up from the 3.7 million tonnes it produced in 2007, a company official said.

Operations Manager Slamet Santosa told Petromindo.com on Thursday that company planned to produce 1.5 million tonnes this quarter.

Baramarta produces coal with CV of around 6,500 Kcal/kg. The company sold coal at its stockpile to traders Prima Multi Trada and Prima Multi Minerals under long-term contracts that are renewed annually. The traders sell the coal to Asia Pacific market. (denny)
