IDX-listed coal firm PT Baramulti Suksessarana Tbk (BSSR) said it would not be able to meet its initial coal production target this year of 10.3 million tons due to unseasonal heavy rainfall.
?There are a number of problems primarily weather condition,? said BSSR President Director Khoirudin told Petromindo.com recently, but did not disclose the new output estimate for this year.
As per the first nine months of this year, output has only reached 7 million tons, of which 5.7 million tons came from subsidiary PT Antang Gunung Meratus mine, and another 1.3 million tons from BSSR operated mine.
Khoirudin also said that export to South Korea continues to increase, now accounting for 16 percent of total coal sales, compared to only around 8 percent previously.
He acknowledged, that China still accounts for 28 percent of the company?s total sales volume, while India around 26 percent. The domestic market accounts for the remainder.
BSSR?s coal concession in South Kalimantan Province is operated by subsidiary PT Antang Gunung Meratus (AGM). Meanwhile, concession located in Loa Janan, East Kalimantan, is operated by the company itself.
