IDX-listed coal mining company PT Baramulti Suksessarana Tbk (BSSR) said it may slightly miss its sales volume target for this year amid the lingering global coal market downturn.

The company is optimistic to be able to sell around 6.6 million tons of coal this year, slightly lower than the initial target of 7 million tons.

Elia Yuanta, Marketing Director of the company told Petromindo.com on Thursday that up to the third quarter of this year sales volume has reached about 4.9 million tons.

?By the end of this year we expect to sell about 6.6 million tons, and most of our coals are destined to India,? he said, adding that all of the coals are taken from its subsidiary PT. Antang Gunung Meratus (AGM), which operates a concession located near the town of Rantau , South Kalimantan.

Elia added that this year the company is targeting 7 million tons output from AGM.

Elia said that last year the company was able to sell up to 5.2 million tons. "Mostly were to India, we have many buyers from India as we have already a branding product," he said, adding that from the 5.2 million tons, about 25 percent were allocated to domestic market.
