PT Aldebaran Rekayasa Cipta, also known as Baran Energy, a start-up company engaging in renewable energy business, expresses its optimism that the demand for the company’s solar panels and batteries will continue to grow in line with continuing growth of renewable energy sector in the country, including solar power plants.
The founder and CEO of Baran Energy, Victor Wirawan, admits that the company initially targeted the households, however, it turned out the demand for its products from industrial sector has been quite high.
“There are a lot of demand for cooperation contract. So far, the demand from households has been quite high. There are also increasing demand from plantations and industrial zones,” he told Petromindo.com last weekend.
The company has also signed deal to install solar panels at households, commercial buildings and industrial zones.
Victor said a number of companies that have requested to install solar panels in their commercial sites are including Internusa, Alam Sutera, plantation areas owned by Salim Group and Kendal Industrial Zone in Central Java.
The company plans to develop solar power plant at the Salim Group’s plantation site with installed capacity of 5 MW and at the Kendal Industrial Zone with 50 MW capacity.
“The plan is to start developing the (solar) power plants in 2020,” he said, without elaborating the investment value of the solar power plants.
Victor said consumers can save electricity costs by up to 20 percent by using battery and solar power plant provided by the company.
At present, Baran Energy provides three types of battery, namely Powerwall with capacity of 8.8 kWh, PowerPack with capacity of 126 kWh and PowerCube with capacity of 1.2 mWh. These batteries are suitable for households, manufacturer plants, real estates, plantations, mining and large-scale industries.
