Barata, Wartsila sign MoU

State-owned manufacturing and engineering company PT Barata Indonesia signed on Monday a MoU with Finnish company Wartsila Energy Solutions to cooperate among others in the manufacturing of power plant components.

Detik.com reported that the MoU was signed by Barata President Director Silmy Karim and President of Wartsila Energy Solutions Javier Cavada.

The cooperation is aimed at supporting the government?s program to develop 35,000 MW power plants over a five-year period.

The government has assigned Barata as coordinator of state-owned enterprises including PT Pindad, PT PAL, and PT Boma Bisma Indra in the efforts to increase the local content in the 35 GW power plant program to around 75 percent.

Barata has previously signed similar agreement with Siemens AG and GE. (*)
