Barito, Adaro to participate in Java 5 power plant tender

IDX-listed companies PT Barito Pacific Tbk and PT Adaro Energy Tbk are looking to participate in a tender to develop a 2x1,000 MW coal-fired power plant in Banten called the Java 5 power plant project, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.
The paper quoted Barito Pacific President Director Agus Salim Pangestu as saying that the company through subsidiary PT Barito Wahana Lestari has set up a consortium with Mitsubishi, Kepco, and Siemens to participate in the tender.
Meanwhile, Adaro Energy President Director Garibaldi Tohir also confirmed the company?s interest to participate in the tender, but has yet to set up a consortium.
The paper said that other listed firms including construction and engineering company PT Wijaya Karya Tbk and energy company PT Indika Energy Tbk has also expressed interest to compete for the Java 5 project. (*)
