IDX-listed diversified company PT Barito Pacific Timber Tbk has decided to develop a smaller capacity power plant of 150 MW as initially planned, thus backing down from greater capacity of 600 MW recommended by the Ministry of Industry, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday.
The paper quoted Barito President Director Agus Salim Pangestu as saying that with the smaller capacity, the power plant will only supply its electricity to support the operation of petrochemical subsidiary PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk.
Barito plans to develop either coal or gas-fired power plant in Cilegon, Banten, expected to be completed in 2018. (*)
