Barito, IP team up in 2x1000 MW power plant project

IDX-listed diversified company PT Barito Pacific Tbk is teaming up with PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, to develop a giant coal-fired power plant in Banten Province.
Barito said in a statement Friday that its wholly-owned subsidiary PT Barito Wahana Lestari and PT Putra Indotenaga, a subsidiary of PT Indonesia Power, have set up a joint venture company called PT Indo Raya Tenaga.
Indo Raya intends to build the Jawa-9 & 10 (2X1000 MW) coal-fired power plant, with ultra supercritical technology, in Suralaya, Banten.
?Related to the above matter, PT Indo Raya Tenaga will soon held an international competitive bidding for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPC) of the project,? Barito said in the statement, but did not provide further details.
