Barito Timur threatens to revoke coal permits

The Barito Timur Regency administration in Central Kalimantan warns coal miners in the region to quickly settle their royalty arrears next year or risked their mining permits revoked.

?In 2015, I hope there will be no more (royalty) arrears,? Regent Ampera AY Mebas told the Kalteng Pos daily Thursday.

He said that royalty from miners in the regency forms part of important source of revenue for the government.

?If they continue to disregard their (royalty) obligation, their operation will be terminated. This applies to all coal miners,? he said. (*)
