PT Baruna Dirga Dharma (BDD), a subsidiary of CKB Logistics, has purchased seven sets of tugs and barges with combined capacity of 7,500 tons to further strengthen the company?s fleet for coal transpotation.
One set of the tugs and barges had been delivered in September last year, and another one in February this year. BDD expects that the delivery of one more set this month and the remaining four sets to follow within the rest of the year.
"BDD set aside about $26 million for capital expenditure (Capex) this year which have been used to purchase the tugs and barges and also for supporting facilities,? BDD's Director Satho Daru Sasongko was reported by Kontan business daily as saying.
At present, most of BDD?s ships are used to transport coal produced by ABM Investama?s subsidiary PT Tunas Inti Abadi (TIA), which operates a coal mine in South Kalimantan. (*)
