Basel, Shanghai to build US$600 million solar power plant

PT Basel Investindo and Shanghai Aerospace Automobile Electromechanical Co Ltd (SAAE) plans to build a 200 MW solar power plant in Indonesia, with projected investment of $3 million per MW, or $600 million in total, Investor daily reported on Wednesday.

Basel Investindo President Director Edwin Henawan Soekawati said that Indonesia has huge potential to benefit from solar panel technology as the country is blessed with plenty of sunlight.

He said that the two companies has signed an MoU with Director General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for the development of the planned solar power plant. (*)
