PT Basic Energi Solusi (BES), a subsidiary of Malaysian-Philippine joint venture Grandway Group Limited, announced on Tuesday that it is conducting drilling activities at two wells in Java.

The firm did not provide details about the wells in its statement, but in June this year, the firm announced that it had acquired the rights to manage ten wells in Central Java, which were developed by small group of miners.

Grandway is a joint venture between Philippines-based firm Basic Energy Corporation and Malaysian firm Petrosolve Sdn Bhd with the former holding 70 percent and the latter 30 percent. Grandway owns 95 percent of BES..

BES further said that on Nov. 25, 2013, Well No. D-07B had reached the target total depth (TD) of 400 meters. Shortly thereafter, the drilling contractor will prepare the well for a series of tests and eventually proceed to production testing.

On the other hand, BES's Well No. D-13 is at 324 meters and is expected to reach TD target of 390 meters.

?Another eight wells are to be drilled in 2014,? the firm said.
