Bayan lifts force majeure status

IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Bayan Resources Tbk announced on Thursday that it has on December 14, 2011 lifted force majeure status for its two mines PT Gunungbayan Pratamacoal and PT Fajar Sakti Prima after regency authority allowed partial resumption of barging activities at Mahakam river in East Kalimantan.
The company said notification has been submitted to its buyers Vitol Asia Pte Ltd and Enel Trade SpA.
Bayan declared force majeure earlier this month after Mahakam bridge in Kutai Kartanegara collapsed and prompted authority to stop barging activities. (romel)
