Bayan Resources aiming to increase its coal production

PT. Bayan Resources, Tbk. one of a giant coal producers in Kalimantan is aiming to increase its coal production by up to 20 percent in 2012 compared to 2011's production. Jenny Quantero, Bayan's director and corporate secretary told Petromindo.com today that the company is expecting to produce 18 million tons of coal from its mines which are spread mostly in East Kalimantan and one in South Kalimantan. I

In 2011 Bayan produced about 15 million tonnes of coal of different calorific values form its eight mines. However Jenny refused to disclose details of production from each mine.

As said in its website, The Bayan Group, through various companies, has exclusive rights to mine under five Coal Contracts of Works and three Kuasa Pertambangan awarded by the Government of Indonesia over a total concession area of 81,265 hectares. The eight mines of Bayan are: Gunungbayan (Block I and Block II),Wahana, Perkasa Inakakerta, Teguh Sinar Abadi, Firman Ketaun Perkasa, Fajar Sakti Prima, Bara Tabang, Brian Anjat Sentosa with the total reserves of more than 476 million tonnes.
