Bayan Resources? president director resigns

IDX-listed coal mining company PT Bayan Resources Tbk said on Friday that its President Director Chin Wai Fong had on November 22 tendered resignation letter.

Bayan said in a statement that in line with existing regulation, the company will hold a shareholders meeting to decide on Chin?s resignation. No further details were provided.

According to company website, Chin was appointed President Director of PT Bayan Resources Tbk on March 18, 2008, and is also the Chief Executive Officer of Bayan Group. He is also the President Commissioner, Commissioner and/or Director of several subsidiaries of PT Bayan Resources Tbk.

He previously occupied various key positions from Project Manager to Director in PT Jaya Sumpiles Indonesia (JSI) (1982-1998) as well as Director in PT Bayan Resources (2006-2008).

Chin graduated with a Bachelor?s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Glasgow in 1981. He is not affiliated with any member of the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners as well as with controlling shareholders of PT Bayan Resources Tbk.
