Bayan?s coal unit faces law suit

Indonesia-listed coal mining group PT Bayan Resources said on Monday that two individuals,Sayu and Kedam, have filed a civil law suit against the company?s coal mining unit PT Teguh Sinar Abadi (TSA) in East Kalimantan accusing the company of occupying their land areas.
Bayan said that that both Sayu and Kedam claimed that land areas in Kampung Lambing in Muara Lawa sub-district in West Kutai Regency currently used by TSA as part of its mining site in the area belonged to them.
Bayan has appointed a lawyer to represent TSA in dealing with the legal suit.
Currently, TSA, one Bayan?s coal mining units, produces about 1 million tons of coal per annum. (denny)
