Indonesia-listed Kalimantan coal mining group PT Bayan Resources said throughput at its coal terminal unit PT Balikpapan Coal Terminal (BCT) in East Kalimantan is expected to reach around 11 million tonnes this year, a slight increase compared to last year?s throughput of 10.5 million tonnes.
The company?s CEO Eddie Chin Wai Fong said the terminal loads coal for Bayan and for third party customers, but he did not give details.
The BCT has a handling throughput capacity of 15.0 million tonnes per annum and 16 stockpiles with an aggregate capacity of approximately 1.0 million tonnes. The terminal has computer controlled reclaiming and conveying facilities that allow blending from up to four stockpiles of coal to produce coal of numerous different specifications. (giok)
