Bayan sees steady throughput at coal terminal

IDX-listed Kalimantan coal mining group PT Bayan Resources said throughput at its coal terminal unit PT Balikpapan Coal Terminal (BCT) in East Kalimantan is expected at around 12-13 million tonnes this year.
Director and Corporate Secretary Jenny Quantero told Petromindo.Com on Monday that the figure is similar to last year?s throughput.
Jenny said that thus far the Company has no immediate plan to increase the terminal?s capacity.
The terminal loads coal for Bayan and for third party customers.
The Balikpapan Coal Terminal has a handling throughput capacity of 15.0 million tonnes per annum and 16 stockpiles with an aggregate capacity of approximately 1.0 million tonnes. The terminal has computer controlled reclaiming and conveying facilities that allow blending from up to four stockpiles of coal to produce coal of numerous different specifications. (denny)
