IDX-listed coal-mining group Bayan Resources Tbk plans to sell 14 million tonnes (MT) of coal to its customers next year.

Director and CFO Alistair McLeod told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that 13.5 MT of the coal would come from the company?s mines in East and South Kalimantan with the balance would be sourced from third party purchasing.

McLeod said 80 percent of its planned sale for next year has been contracted.

He said that this year the company may sell 10.5MT of coal, exceeding target of 10MT. ?All of this year?s output has been contracted,? he said.

Bayan is also eyeing to supply coal to state electricity firm PLN?s power plants which are build under the 10,000-MW crash program next year. ?We are also looking to supply coal to major IPPs in Indonesia,? he said.

Bayan operates several coal mines in Kalimantan including PT Gunungbayan Pratama Coal, PT Perkasa Inakakerta, PT Wahana Baratama Mining and PT Kaltim Supacoal, which is slated to start upgraded coal production end of the year. (denny)
