IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Bayan Resources Tbk said that the ongoing construction for the expansion of its coal stockpile at the Senyiur Port on the Kedang Kepala River in East Kalimantan is expected to be completed in the second quarter (Q2) of this year.

?Expansion of the stockpile is in progress. It is expected to be completed in second quarter of this year,? said Chin Wai Fong, President Director of Bayan recently to Petromindo.com.

Chin said that following the completion of a 69-km hauling road last year linking its Tabang mine and the port, and the upcoming completion of the stockpile facility, the coal loading capacity at the Senyiur Port will be increased to 20 million tons per year. The coal loading capacity currently stands at 2,000 tons per hour, and expansion work is in progress to double it to 4,000 tons per hour.

Bayan has set a coal production target of about 14 million tons this year, of which 6-8 million tons will come from its Tabang concession in East Kalimantan.
