Friday, June 4 2010 - 03:44 AM WIB
The company said in a presentation on Thursday that this year?s coal sales volume may reach 14-16 million tons (MT), up 17 percent compared to last year?s sales volume due to increasing demand from India, Taiwan and Malaysia.
Bayan targets to increase average selling price (ASP) to US$65-69 per ton, from US$62 per ton last year. ASP is taken based on bituminous coal 6,322 kcal/kg (GAR) with average price at $78 per ton.
In the first quarter of 2010, the company?s ASP reached $71.8 per ton, up from $62.3 per tons in the same quarter of last year.
For this year, coal production from the company is expected to reach 13.8-15.1 MT, representing an increase from last year's 11.4 MT.
Bayan's coal is mostly sold to India, Italy, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The big five of the company?s buyers are trading firms Vitol, Enel S.p.A, Constellation, Adani and Coal & Oil.
Meanwhile, the company plans to spend $50-60 million in working capital this year. Bayan has several expansion projects, including the expansion of port at the coal mines of its coal unit PT Perkasa Inakakaerta, the construction of a 5-km belt conveyor at Tabang coal mine, the expansion of stockpile at its Wahana Baratama Mining coal mine.
Bayan operates eight coal mines in Kalimantan including PT Gunungbayan Pratama Coal, PT Perkasa Inakakerta, PT Wahana Baratama Mining and PT Kaltim Supacoal. (denny)
