BBR provides 34 barges for coal transport

IDX-listed shipping company PT Pelayaran Nasional Bina Buana Raya Tbk (BBR) provides 34 barges for coal shipment this year, and 35 tug boats.

?The number is the same with last year?s because we?re not expanding our fleet of barges and tug boats this year,? said President Director Loa Siong Bun at the company?s public expose meeting on Tuesday.

Bun said it was difficult to exactly determine the coal transportation volume for this year as part of its barges are leased to clients, while the others are used by the company itself to transport coal produced by several miners.

But he said that coal accounts for about 70 percent of the company?s total transportation business, with the remainders are contributed by oil, gas, and nickel.

The company?s coal mining clients among others are PT Titan Mining Energy, PT Trubaindo Coal Mining and PT Padang Bara Sukses Makmur.
