BD signed agreement with China development bank on smelter project

Witnessed by Chineses Prime minister Xi Jinping and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, PT. Bintang Delapan (BD) on Thursday signed an agreement with China Development bank on smelter project amidst a business meeting luncheon in Jakarta.

PT. Bintang Delapan will build ferro nickel smelter in Morowali regency of Central Sulawesi province with US$1.1 billion of total investment. The smelter will have 300,000 tons capacity annually. The agreement was signed by Bintang Delapan Chairman Halim Mina, CEO of China Developement Bank Zheng Zhijie and CEO of China ASEAN Investment Corp Fund Li Yao. In total, there were nine agreements on mineral downstream projects signed in the event.
