Bekasi Power enters pre FS for C. Java power plant project

PT Bekasi Power (BP), a wholly owned subsidiary of IDX-listed real estate developer PT Jababeka Tbk, stated that it has entered a pre feasibility study stage for a planned 2x300 MW coal fired power plant at an industrial estate in Kendal, Central Java.
Djefri Cantono, Director of Bekasi Power told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the power plant will supply electricity the 2,700-ha industrial estate.
?We are currently entering pre-feasibility study for the power plant and also (seeking) to obtaini the environmental permit (Amdal) for industrial estate region,? he, said adding that the company has completed about 700 hectares of land acquisition.
Djefri, however, declined to confirm whether construction of the project could start next year.
Earlier, Djefri told Petromindo.com that in this project the company will be in joint venture with Sembawang Corporation Utility of Singapore with the total investment of US$ 1.2 million per MegaWatt. The power plant is expected to be on fire by 2020.
