PT Bekasi Power, wholly owned subsidiary of IDX-listed property developer PT Jababeka Tbk, is planning to build a 450 MW gas-fueled power plant in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java Province.
Djefri Cantono, Director of Bekasi Power told Petromindo.com Thursday the company will form a joint venture with Mitsui Corp to develop the project, which will be 51 percent owned by his company, and 49 percent by the Japanese firm.
?We have already submitted the proposal to (state-owned utility) PT PLN,? he said, adding that the company was waiting to complete power purchase agreement (PPA) with PLN before starting construction of the project.
Djefri said that the upcoming US$450 million plant would be developed near its 130 MW Bekasi Power 1 gas-fueled power plant in Cikarang.
