Bekasi Power to develop 2x300 MW power plant in Kendal

PT Bekasi Power (BP), a wholly owned subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk, is planning to develop a coal fired power plant with the total capacity of 2x300 MW in an industrial estate in Kendal, Central Java.
Djefri Cantono, Director of Bekasi Power, told Petromindo.com recently that the company has acquired 1,000 hectares of lands for the project.
?We are conducting land preparation, developing early infrastructure on 100 ha in the first phase as well as doing several studies,? he said, adding that land study for the project has been completed.
?Now we are studying on the coal fired power plant,? he said.
The firm will team up with Sembawang Corporation Utility of Singapore to develop the project with a total investment of US$ 1.2 million per MW. The power plant is expected to come onstream by 2020.
