BEL continues to conduct exploration activity

Aceh-based coal miner PT Bara Energy Lestari (BEL), a coal unit of PT Media Djaya Bersama (MDB), has stated to continue exploration activities within its mine in Nagan Raya district, Meulaboh, Aceh province.
The company has conducted 6-hole infill drilling, geophysical logging and sampling for laboratory analysis to boost confidence in the interpretation of the existing reserves during December period, it said in a statement.
At present, the mine has total reserve of 19 million tons of low-rank coal.
BEL has started trial coal production in Q4 2011 and has produced around 120,000 tons of low rank coal in 2012.
Media Djaya Bersama is owned by PT Reswara Minergi Hartama, a coal holding unit of IDX-listed integrated firm PT ABM Investama Tbk.
The contractor for the mine is Jakarta-based PT Tata Bara Utama, which has agreed to provide stripping and mining activities targeted to produce up to 582,000 tons at the stripping ratio of 4:1 with overburden removal of 2.32 million BCM (bank cubic meter).
