Belarus to invest in heavy equipment

Industry Minister MS Hidayat said on Tuesday that Belarus planned to invest in Indonesia to produce heavy machinery equipment for mining operation.

The plan was raised during the bilateral talk between President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and visiting Belarus President Alexander Luxashenko at the State Palace on Tuesday.

Hidayat said that should Belarus realize its commitment, the government would guarantee raw material supply and to give tax facilities.

To follow up the deal, Belarus president also invited Indonesian officials to discuss the plan bilaterally in his country.
