IDX-listed mining infrastructure developer PT Benakat Integra Tbk is seeking to develop two coal-fired power projects in Kalimantan including a mine-mouth plant proposed by a mining firm, and another one planned by state utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).
?The mine-mouth power plant will have a capacity of 60 MW, but we couldn?t disclose the name of the mine owner. Meanwhile, the one planned by PLN will have a greater capacity,? Finance Director Michael Wong told Petromindo.com Thursday on the sidelines of a public expose meeting.
Michael said that the company will form a consortium with other firms in developing the two projects. ?The engineering, procurement, and construction will be handled by a third party, not us,? he said.
He said that Benakat and other partner candidates are finalizing the ownership structure of the consortium, which will develop the projects.
