Benakat to expand coal handling capacity next year

IDX-listed PT Benakat Integra Tbk, which is engaged among others in the provision of integrated coal mining infrastructure facilities in South and East Kalimantan, plans to increase the capacity of its subsidiary PT Astrindo Mahakarya Indonesia (AMI) next year.

Benakat Director Michael Wong told Petromindo.com that AMI?s coal handling volume this year is estimated to reach 79 million tons, up from 62 million tons last year, in line with rising price of the commodity. ?Until mid-December, it has reached 77 million tons,? he said on Tuesday.

AMI, through two subsidiaries PT Mitratama Pratama and PT Nusa Tambang Pratama, operates an integrated coal mining infrastructure facilities including coal processing and handling, coal baring at port terminal, coal storage and coal loading. The two subsidiaries serve giant coal miners PT Kaltim Prima Coal in East Kalimantan and PT Adaro Indonesia in South Kalimantan.
