Bene Makmur drilling in CPP block completed

BOB BSP-Pertamina Hulu has completed the drilling of Bene Makmur exploration well in CPP block, Riau.

Senior Manager Operation Novi Sugianto told Petromindo.Com the drilling was completed at the end of last year. The well shows a potential oil reserve but a test will not be carried out until after upstream authority SKK Migas gives a greenlight.

The firm has planned to drill Bene Wangi and Baung exploration wells but the plan has been put on hold due to the lack permit from the local government. The firm has yet to obtain a permit from the local neighborhood (RT/RW) to drill Baung well, which makes it unable to obtain permit from the Bengkalis regency. Meanwhile, the firm has just received a permit from the Siak regency for the drilling of Bene Wangi.

The firm has held tender to obtain rig to drill the wells but could not use it due the lack of permit.

The firm will use 750 HP rig to drill Bene Wangi and Baung. Meanwhile, the rig used to drill Bene Makmur is of 550 HP type.
