The flow of hydrocarbon fluid from the field has been hampered by sold materials which clog the well at the perforation depth of 2,597-2,600.5 meters.
Pertamina will carry out the so-called ?perforation cleanup? work and ?reperforation? at the targeted level so that the hydrocarbon fluid can flow again, the firm said.
?Such incident often happens during post-exploration work follow-up management and Pertamina EP is well experienced and capable to cope with it,? Agus Amperianto, PEP?s spokesman, said.
He said PEP is mobilizing rig service equipment with a capacity of 550 HP from the Rantau field to carry out reperforation works.
Meanwhile the construction of 6 inch flowline from the well to the Wampu station has been done and the flowline is ready for use. From Wampu station, the gas will be transmitted to state owned distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara and state owned power company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara.
?This (the completion of the flowline) was made possible due to supports from all statekholders in Langkat regency, including the public, media and the Langkat regency administration and the House of Regional Representatives (DPD),? Agus said.
Previous reports said the well may produce up to 15 mmcfd of gas and the production is scheduled to start this month.
