Bengkulu administration issues termination letter for 10 mining firms

The Energy and Mining Office of the Bengkulu provincial administration has issued termination letter for 10 mining firms in the province as their mining permits have expired.

?The 10 mining firms are still in exploration stage, and the validity of their permits have expired so we issued the termination letter,? Secretary of the provincial mining office, Octaviano told Antara on Thursday.

The 10 firms include nine coal mining firms and one gold mining company. The coal firms are PT Ratu Samban Mining, PT Sato Mining, PT Skord Mining, PT Krida Darma (all with concessions in Bengkulu Utara Regency), PT Dongin Mining (in Bengkulu Utara and Seluma regencies), and PT Cakrabara di Bengkulu Tengah.

The gold mining company is PT Lion Power located in Lebong Regency.

Elsewhere, Octaviano said that his office is still in making verification process with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on iron ore sand mining firm PT Bengkulu Mega Steel in Kaur Regency, and coal firm PT Ferto Rejang in Bengkulu Tengah Regency, of which have already entered production stage, for failing to meet a number of requirements.
