Bengkulu optimistic to lure investors to develop geothermal potential

The Bengkulu provincial administration is optimistic that geothermal potential of 185 MW in the province?s Kepahiang Regency is set to be pout on tender to lure investors in 2014.
Head of the Bengkulu mining office Muhammad Ikhwan said that investors such as Chevron Geothermal has already sought for the possibility of participating in the geothermal tender.
?We?re optimistic that 185 MW of geothermal potential in Kepahiang will lure investors to participate in the 2014 tender. Chevron had came to use,? Ikhwan told Petromindo.com Monday.
Ikhwan added that PT Pertamina Geothermal Energi is currently making preparations to develop geothermal project in Gedang Hululais area, which spans in three regencies including Lebong, Rejang Lebong, and North Bengkulu.
