Berau Bara Abadi conducts AMDAL activity

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Berau Bara Abadi is conducting an environmental impact assessment study, or AMDAL to allow the company to exploit its mine in Berau regency.

The company has made an announcement regarding the AMDAL activity to the public through local newspaper, recently.

The concession area is about 2,370 ha. The mine is a coal unit of PT United Coal Indonesia (UCI).

In Dec 2012, Taufik Surya Darma, President Director of UCI told Petromindo.com that the mine is expected to commence production in the second quarter of 2013. "We expect total production from Berau Bara Abadi to reach 750,000 tons during the 8th month production in 2013," he said.
