Despite sales volume decrease, East Kalimantan based coal-mining firm PT. Berau Coal booked unaudited revenue of Rp. 595 billion (US$ = 9,050) during the first half of this year, a four percent increase compared to last year?s corresponding period revenue of Rp.570 billion.

Parent company heavy equipment maker United Tractors (UT) said in its report released Wednesday that during the first quarter of the year, it sold 3 million tones of coal, lower than last year?s corresponding period sales of 3.1 million tones. But revenue was higher because Berau booked average selling price of US$20.88 per tones, compared to last year?s average price of $ 17.32.

However, UT warned that selling price would be sliding throughout this year due to the weakening in international steam coal prices.
