IDX-listed coal miner PT Berau Coal Energy, Tbk said it will redesign its mine-mouth power plant project with installed capacity having cut from 15-25 MW power to 10-12 MW as part of efficiency measures.

?Initially, we planned to develop a mine-mouth power plant with a capacity of 15-25 MW to support the operation of our 45-km conveyor belt. However, in view of the protracted coal market downturn, we have reviewed our plan, cutting the capacity of 10 to 12 MW, as part of our efficiency program,? Independent Director Arief Wiedhartono told Petromindo.com after the shareholders? general meeting on Wednesday in Jakarta

According to him, the power plant will be built in Suaran, Berau Regenccy, North Kalimantan Province.

Arief said that the company has allocated about Rp 5,03 billion in capital expenditure for the early stage of the development of the power plant.
