Berau Coal extends 5-year mining services with SIS

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Berau Coal and Indonesia?s third largest coal mining contractor PT Saptaindra Sejati (SIS) have agreed to extend coal mining services to exploit Berau Coal?s block called B-1 in Sambarata area for another 5 years, industrial sources told Petromindo.com.

The contract signed on September 30.

SIS has conducted overburden removal and coal hauling from the B-1 block since 2007. Sambarata is one of three major mining areas, which include Lati and Binungan in Berau Coal concession with reserves of 85 million tons. The capacity of processing facility at the Sambarata area is 3 million tons per annum.

Berau Coal is using a coal from the area for blending its coal to fulfill Berau?s specified products including Sungkai and Agathis
