IDX-listed coal miner PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk is eyeing 26.5 million tons of coal production this year from its subsidiary PT Berau Coal, which operates mines in East Kalimantan.

Singgih Widagdo, General Manager of Corporate Communications at PT Berau Coal Energy told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the 2016 production target is the same as the coal output achieved in 2015.

?We are targeting the same (production volume as last year?s output) as the condition of the global market is still in a downturn,? he said, adding that in 2015 the company shipped about 26.39 million tons of coal.

Berua Coal operates three producing mines namely Lati mine, Binungan mine, and Sambarata mine in Berau Regency, North Kalimantan.
