Berau Coal January output down on heavy rains

East Kalimantan based coal mining company PT Berau Coal fail to meet January production target of 600,000 tons due to heavy rainfall in its mining sites, according to company?s executive.

?Heavy rainfall cut production to 400,000 tons in January,? said Jeffrey Mulyono, Berau Coal president on Tuesday.

Jeffrey said in during February the rain had subsided and the company was expected to be able to produce more than 600,000 tons.

Berau Coal aims to produce 8.5 million tons this year. (godang)
