Last year, according to Arief, Berau Coal produced about 24.2 million tons with Sambarata mine contributing 5 million tons, Binungan mine 9.3 million tons and Lati mine 9.9 million tons. Of the 2014 total output, 16 percent was absorbed by domestic market, 84 percent exported to China, Taiwan, India and some others Asian countries.
