Berau Coal is optimistic to be able to meet its 2001 output target of around 6.5-6.8 million tons of coal despite the problem of heavy rainfall in East Kalimantan, according to company president Jeffrey Mulyuno.

There has been earlier fears that the heavy rainfall would disrupt company production and coal transportation.
