Berau Coal set to exceed production target

East Kalimantan miner PT. Berau Coal said its first semester coal production reached 4.427 million tons.

The company had been able to increase second quarter production to 2.3 million tons from previous quarter?s production of 2.1 million tons.

Berau Coal Secretary Ratmono Ratmansunu told Petromindo.Com Tuesday that the company is aiming to produce around 9 million tons of coal this year, higher than previously targeted production of 8.5 million tons.

Berau Coal is one of Indonesia's major coal producers, operating coalmines in Berau Regency in the northern part of East Kalimantan. (godang)
