Berau delivers 9.5 million tons of coal in 2005

East Kalimantan-based coal producer PT Berau Coal said Thursday it had shipped about 9.5 million tons of coal to its buyers last year, slightly higher compared to the pervious year's shipment of 9.13 million tons.
Berau production director Totok AZ said the company planned to produce 2.7 million tons of coal in the first quarter of 2006 or about 17 percent increase from the same period last year of 2.3 million tons.
Berau exports around 70 percent of its annual output to its traditional markets, such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan, while the remaining portion for domestic markets. (godang)
