PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk (Berau), of the country's publicly listed coal miners, has set a sales target of 23 million tons, and production target of 23.5 million tons for next year, the company's senior executive has said.
The company's President Director Rosan P Roeslani said in Jakarta that about 75 percent of the coal sales would be part of long-term contracts and the other 25 percent would be carried out in the spot market.
"Our main market is China, but we also try to enter India next year," he told during a public expose. He, however, refused to unveil the company's average sales price for next year.
Rosan estimated the company's total production and total sales would reach about 21 million tons this year. "Meanwhile, the average sale price is expected to reach US$71.5 per ton," he said.
