Berau, Indominco agree to supply more coal to PLN

East Kalimantan coal miners PT Berau Coal and PT Indominco Mandiri have agreed to supply more coal to state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listik Negara (PLN).

Berau Coal and Indomico will increase their coal supply to 4.06 million tonnes and 3.2 million tonnes, starting next year to 2015, from this year?s commitment of 2.64 million tonnes and 1.4 million tonnes, respectively, PLN official said.

The amount figures are only for PLN?s power plants, the official said.

Total volume of coal supply to PLN next year and 2013, is around 49 million tonnes and 53.2 million tonnes, respectively, which would come from 9 coal contract of work (CCoW) holders and 2 IUP holders and from PT PLN Batubara, a coal trading unit of PLN.

This year, PLN is targeting to consume around 36.6 million tonnes. (denny)
