Berau likely to win Tanjung Jati B coal supply tender

East Kalimantan coal miner PT.Berau Coal is likely to win 1 million tonnes low-rank coal supply tender to Tanjung Jati B 2x660-MW power plant in Jepara, Central Java.

Chris Leo Manggala, Fuel Manager of PT.Pembangkitan Tanjung Jati B- a unit of electricity firm PLN which runs the plant- told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that formal announcement letter to appoint Berau Coal as winner might be issued soon.

Berau beat another East Kalimantan miner PT. Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in the tender.

Manggala said Berau would be paid between Rp.430,000-Rp450,000 (US$=Rp.9,400) per tonne CIF, adding that coal would be delivered in 2008. (denny)
